The Center for Global Business Studies, under FG, is using cutting-edge technologies to design an innovative multi-media series that explores the changing nature of global enterprise. This 10-CD collection is an outreach effort to educate and update business executives on current business trends through long-distance. Two other multi-media projects are underway.
   

"Global Tectonics: What Every Business Needs to Know" presents the global revolutions that will shape every facet of society. Demographic trends, natural resource issues, and dramatic advances in technology will has so dramatic an impact that no one involved in strategy should miss this compelling CD set. Erick Peterson, Vice President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank accompanies Dr. Ghadar in presenting an overview of these trends.

"World Financial Institutions: A Century of Innovation and Creativity" explores the evolution of the financial services industry. Penn State alumni and former Merrill Lynch leader and CEO, William A. Schreyer co-authors the CD with Dr. Ghadar. The CD investigates the evolution of this dynamic industry and addresses current topics relevant to a number of financial institutions such as commercial banks, investment banks, funds, insurance and corporate financial officers.

"The Dubious Logic of Global Megamergers" based on the lead research article in the July/August (2000) Harvard Business Review. It presents a number of surprising findings that contradict the notion, “bigger is better.” Pankaj Ghemawat from Harvard Business School serves as Dr. Ghadar’s co-presenter on the CD.

"Vertical Integration: Managing Tomorrow’s Resources" explores the history of the oil industry from its inception and the impact it has had on geopolitics and the global economy. Comments by Center expert, Laura Kohler, Vice President of Human Resources at the Kohler Company, and Robert Ebel, a leading expert in the international politics of oil, are just a few.

"The Globalization and the Americas" was produced in collaboration between the Schreyer Center for Global Business Studies and the Penn State Americanist Focus Group and its February 21-23, 2003 conference on “The Emergence of Globalization and the Americas: 1492-2002.” This CD is the archival record of a number of key presentations and exchanges among a number of faculty panelists and the keynote speaker for that event, Michael Hardt, co-author (with Antonio Negri) of the widely circulated book, Empire.
